With Chekkit Technologies’ drive for inclusive technology in the face of the covid19 pandemic, the start-up has announced its role in the fight against the #Covid19 pandemic in Africa in partnership with the African Union and the Africa CDC.
When the pandemic hit and activities were brought to a halt, Chekkit Technologies has thought of how best it could utilize its consumer Intelligence Solution in the fight while also ensuring every African can be impacted, especially people at the bottom of the pyramid.
In that vein, the health tech start-up has developed and will launch today Friday, April 24, 2020, a USSD Help & Information Center in pidgin English.
The USSD code *347*03*03# which is currently accessible on all network platforms in Nigeria provides the general public with quick access to help and verified information.
The code when dialed, gives the user access to:
1 – Sign up for daily Covid19 alerts and alerts are sent as SMS and USSD push notification
2 – Request a Covid19 test. We hope this will help scale-up testing especially in hard to reach areas
3 – Partake in tailored surveys set by stakeholders and win free airtime
4 – Play Chekkit’s Covid19 game and win free airtime by proving they know the facts about the virus
5- Participate in Covid19 quizzes to test their knowledge and level of information
Stakeholders like the Africa CDC and the NCDC will have access to a tailored dashboard where they can make better decisions from the data and insights gathered, monitor and engage with the general public as well as scale-up testing like we mentioned earlier.
