Your password should be robust enough to prevent an unscrupulous individual from accessing your phone. You can also ensure apps holding your private information are locked down until the password is entered. Just ensure your password is not too complex for you to remember if you are the forgetful type.

Lock patterns are far more secure than no pattern at all. Avoid using obvious combination of pattern. You can also try Face unlock.  Despite its downsides, there are obvious benefits of having one.

Another way to go about phone security is using phone-built security system. Another feature in the mobile world is the finger print sensor. Change your password regularly.

Avoid saving important passwords in your device. Details such as banking details and payment apps when stored on your phone are easy to trace.

A secured network when conducting online monetary transactions is vital. Avoid public Wi-Fi when you carry out such transactions. Hackers can easily sniff out your private information when using public network. You can always protect your network using robust passwords.

Mobile security apps in one way or another can enhance security issues. Apps such as Avast.  Mobile Security guards you from android malware. Install antivirus security apps.

Always have a backup of your data. With a back-up you can restore your device to its initial state when you retrieve your stolen form. There are various apps that support storage of backup information. You can use Cloud, flash drive, dropbox just to mention a few.

At times it is difficult to trace a stolen phone. Thankfully most phones are built to be trackable. All you have to do is to enable GPS on your phone for it to be trackable. There is a ton of device tracking apps out there that can help one trace their phone .In case you find it impossible to locate your phone, you should be able to wipe your device remotely.

Always grab the latest version of the available apps. A lot of security loopholes will have been blocked as you do all the above.
