TECNO Mobile launched its premium flagship smart phone, TECNO PHANTOM 5.

In a move believed by many to bolster the phone maker’s push into the premium mobile segment, TECNO PHANTOM 5 boasts top-of-the-line features such as 3GB RAM, fingerprint Touch ID and full metal body casing.

“TECNO PHANTOM 5 is a premium smart phone fully optimized for work and leisure. There are only a few smart phones in the market that boasts of the MediaTeck TFA9890 Octa-core chipset- PHANTOM 5 is one of them, which makes it a truly 5.5 screen portable PC.”- Jesse Oguntimehin, Digital Marketing Manager, TECNO Mobile Nigeria.

The PHANTOM 5 launch, which held in the Function Suite, Sheraton Hotels and Suites, Ikeja had in attendance dignitaries from government regulatory bodies, Telecoms, online retail stores, software development and support companies and over sixty journalists from mainstream and new media.

“Worldwide sales of smart phones to end users reached 336 million units, an increase of 19.3 per cent during the first quarter of 2015, and these figures reflect strong sales in Africa-particularly North Africa and Nigeria”, said Mr Vane, Director of Marketing, TECNO Mobile.

“The Nigerian market is fast maturing, what we see is an increasingly segmented space where end users buy phones based on key features like music, camera and Internet connectivity. TECNO is positioned strategically to meet the mobile needs of each segment with quality music, camera and Internet phones from our product lines,” Mr Vane added.

The phone comes with a 13MP auto focus rear camera that takes pictures even in low light and HiFi 2.0 Dolby Nature surround audio – first natural Boom sound stereos with zero sound distortion.

Brand loyalists can now enjoy the long awaited ‘Touch’ fingerprint identification from the leading mobile maker as PHANTOM 5 unveils TECNO’s first fingerprint touch sensor mounted on the rear of the smart phone.

“The accuracy and speed of PHANTOM 5 ‘Touch’ sensor is fantastic, its scanner reads 360 degree user fingerprint and in just the same instant the finger makes contact with the rear grove”, said Miss Hanane Karroumi, Media and PR Manager, TECNO Mobile.

Recommended retail price is about N70,000.
