Technology is a major sector of both the economy and education since its conception and has been expanding its reach continuously and consistently over the years. Hubs have been instrumental as a change agent.

A Tech hub is an organization that targets solving problems with tech-enabled solutions.

These tech hubs encourage experiments, provide platforms where ideas meet investment and technical support which kick starts a startup.

Tech hubs drive innovative change in the society, as it brings together individuals with knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

These individuals aggregate to form a cluster within a location, bringing together their skills and knowledge.

The success of America Silicon Valley has further inspired the formation of tech hubs all over the world.

Silicon Valley located in California has nurtured very successful high-technology companies.

Silicon Valley also accounts for a huge part of venture capital investment in the United State, this has made it the leading hub and a symbolic startup ecosystem for high-tech innovations.

As new and emerging hubs want to build something similar to what they have.

Nigeria is one of the African countries with a fast-paced growing technology sector. It also has its technology valley called Yabacon Valley, situated in Yaba, Lagos.

The Yabacon valley has the highest cluster of various technology-based institutions, startup companies.

It is therefore no surprise that it has the highest number of tech hubs in Nigeria as well as startups.

Co-creation Hub commonly called the CcHub is one of Nigeria’s leading hubs. Located in Yaba, Lagos.

This hub strives for economic prosperity through the application of social capital and technology.

The hub which celebrated its ten years of existence and growing in 2020 trained over 250 teachers in both STEM and non-STEM courses virtually. CcHub has also hosted and held webinars on the Internet of Things (IoT).

In Abuja, Enspire Hub an initiative of Abuja Technology Village (ATV) occupies a niche in the technological ecosystem of Nigeria as it facilitates economic growth and job sustainability by providing training, networking opportunities, mentoring, access to funding and enterprise development.

Enspire Hub participated in the 2020 JICA’s Business Plan competition in response to COVID-19 for African startups as one of the external evaluators. Enspire Hub is slowly but steadily becoming a force to reckon with in the Tech ecosystem.

Innovation Growth Hub, one of the leading tech hubs in the South East of Nigeria is an organization that solves business problems with Tech-enabled solutions.

These tech hubs in Nigeria are committed to helping Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and guiding them through the process of ideation, incubation and innovation.

Innovation Growth hub also trains youth and unemployed graduates. In December 2020, the Innovation Growth hub inducted and linked youths trained in their Developers and Netpreneurs fellowship to jobs.

OlotuSquare is another amazing tech hub in Nigeria, located in the city of Port Harcourt.

It houses a community of technology developers skilled in full-stack web development.

Olotu Square also provides support to startups and business owners. They are also the official channel partner for Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative (ANPI) in West Africa.

There are various other tech hubs in Nigeria, spread across different states.

Every one of these hubs is doing amazingly well, human capital development is on the rise due to these hubs and Nigeria like the rest of the world is evolving and embracing technology.

Some of these include GIG Innovation Hub, StartPreneurs, nHub, Blue Hub, Premier Hub, Enable Africa Hub,
Founders’ Hub, NG_HUB, Focus Hub this and many more make the tech hubs in Nigeria.
