The 5th season of the Remita Corporate Champions Cup, sponsored by SystemSpecs, will commence on August 18, 2019, and end by September 1, 2019, at the Sports Complex of Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos.

The Remita Corporate Champions Cup is a yearly football event, now running in its 5th year. This was disclosed at a briefing by the Management of SystemSpecs.

The league will feature the winners and runners-up from various sector-based competitions in the corporate world, featuring the banking sector, the insurance sector, the telecom sector, etc. On the bill to take on to the field of play, include teams, such as Union Bank, HIS Towers, Nestle, First City Monument Bank, FrieslandCampina and NEM Insurance.

“As always, we strongly believe that work-life balance is, a necessity and can, substantially, contribute to a healthier, productive workforce.

This is, therefore, a pivotal reason we have been a part of this tournament, since its inception and five editions, running, we continue to promote team bonding, inter-company networking and wellness, among employees from different firms, in a stress-free manner”, explained John Obaro, MD, SystemSpecs, at the briefing.

“It has been five whole seasons of spectacular soccer, across corporate Nigeria. We guarantee participating teams and spectators”, observed Jimmy Sogbesan, Chief Operating Officer of MediaVision.

Also, at the briefing was Peter Rufai, former goalkeeper of the National Football team, the Super Eagles, who is an Ambassador of the Remita Corporate Champions Cup tournament.

He stated that he personally expected a remarkable competition and anticipated that the championship would engender and strengthen camaraderie among the players participating, the teams, organisations and supporters.

According to the organisers of the Remita Corporate Champions Cup tournament, this year’s event will witness Novelty matches, raffle draws, etc., as well as, Music that will feature Rema and Lil’Kesh, who will be performing at the opening and closing of the event, respectively.

The Remita Corporate Champions Cup tournament can be viewed as a way of giving back to the society, by SystemSpecs, the brain behind the Remita payment platform.
