Google well known for being a very reliable search engine which it started as, but today, it now has a number of useful features that many people are not even aware of.

Below, I share some of these useful and interesting features with you:

Google Definitions: All that you need to do to use this feature is to simply Type “Define”, then the “word” you want Google to define, e.g., Define Technology. What you will see next will be a top box with a standard dictionary definition and as many information as possible about that word, including parts of speech.

Google Translations: This is a useful tool to help you understand other languages easily. All you need to do is to type, “Translate” along with the “word” to your preferred “language” – e.g., I tried- Translate Love to Hausa- and it gave me the result as- SO. You can see that this is a super useful feature for frequent travellers or language enthusiasts.

Google Conversions: All you need to do here is to simply type the “conversion” you want to achieve and you will get the result instantly, e.g., you can type- Convert 10,200 Megabytes to Gigabytes- and it will give you the result.

Public Data Explorer: This has tons of information on public statistics which makes it useful for students and researchers. You can go there and search for, say, -Life Expectancy in Nigeria- and the results will pop-up.

Some results on Nigeria are, however, quite outdated and it requires relevant Government agencies reaching out to Google with newer data and statistics so that these will be updated.

Hope you found the revelation interesting and educative.
