What our community may not understand is that, there is, indeed a lot that meets the eye and quite a lot that happens in the background that we just cannot talk about.

This is basically the reason why we actually decided to move away to a system that actually would make it a bit difficult for folks who cared less about what we are doing to simply come in and win. To tell you the truth, the story has been quite different since we moved the giveaways to Rafflecopter. First, we are deriving some benefits in terms of community engagement and those who truly deserve to win are actually winning.

It is, however, important to still share some tips with those who are serious about winning giveaways indefinitely. If you notice we are not restricting anybody whether you have won before or not.

Here are some of the things you do not do after a giveaway:

1. Act like nothing Happened

Sometimes, I wonder what people think………….. it actually does take a lot to run giveaways, so the most terrible thing to do is win a giveaway, receive the gift and act like nothing has happened.

Trust me, that has happened to us a number of times – people come for there gifts and that is it! No, no, no! It is not helpful that way – if you do that, then, you just gave that giveaway one reason to die because, if you make noise about receiving your gift, others get to hear about it and more brands are attracted, unlike when you keep quite.

Learn to show appreciation by saying a thank you, especially, after you are announced the winner and after you must have received your gifts – when you receive your gift, it is a really nice gesture to use your social media accounts to say thank you while ensuring that techsmart.ng is tagged.

2. Unfollow Account after Gift is Received

First and foremost, it is only fair not to enter a giveaway you have no interest in. Why would you want to enter a giveaway, be lucky enough to win and say bye-bye the next minute?

Well, its a free world but what goes around, comes around. If techsmart.ng gives you a chance to win, you should also give her a chance to be part of your tech life.

3. Receive Gifts you Don’t Need

I honestly respect certain people who actually win giveaways and pass it over for one reason or the other. Some will tell us straight up that we should pass on to the next person for one reason or the other.

If you win something you know you will never use, then it is indeed a good idea to simply ask us to move it to another winner – it is a more honorable thing to do, but if you have someone who appreciates the gift, then, you can collect the gift and pass it on.

4. Not reading the rules

Each giveaway has rules of engagement and it is important that you read these properly because, it contains all the necessary details of the Giveaway.

In our case, we are not just running the giveaway for the fun of it. While we want to reward our community, which we are already doing, we also want to be Africa’s top tech blog, helping people to use technology smartly.
