As an ardent enthusiast of technology, AI, Artificial Intelligence, has always been my favourite topic to discussion. Artificial Intelligence is a branch of technology that is concerned with the creation of intelligent machines that can think like humans and act like humans. Robotics is one of the major branches of Artificial Intelligence. Robotics technology involves the conception, design, production, and operations of robots. This area overlaps with Computer Science, electronics, AI, bioengineering and nanotechnology.

It is a fact that robots will soon be everywhere, in our house and at workplace. They will certainly change the way we lead our daily lives, the way we eat, the way we perform our jobs at our offices and homes. The day is not very far when you will have a humanoid robot friend; you will have a robotic car. It will no longer be a not science fiction but a reality.

Robots are being used extensively in many fields today and they are going to be relevant in shaping the future in fields such as industry, medicine, defense, education, household, entertainment, etc.

Here are some ways robot could impact our life in the future.

Care of the elderly.

One of the most crucial uses of personal robots in the near future could be in the care of the elderly in the society. The UN, (United Nations), estimates that the elderly people, (over-65), will be more than double by 2050. Personal robots will make their daily tasks simpler, like bathing, assisting to pick up heavy objects and many more.

Companionship

Rather than carrying out tasks alone for you as stated above, personal robots in future could understand your facial expressions and your language to provide a much more humanoid interaction and companionship for you.

Efficient Technology for Business

By implementing humanoid robots, companies will enrich their customer experience and change the interface used in communicating with them. Humanoid robots will offer your customers an exceptional experience when they enter your storefront. Your robot will welcome them, help them in their shopping and instruct and direct them according to their needs or desires. This is already in use on a minimal level, but expected to be expanded in the future.

Easily Fit Into Families

We will not have to wait very long for this. Personal robots like Jibo, (World’s First Social Robot for Home), will hit the market within the next few years. Jibo has been designed especially for home life. It is programmed to learn, see, hear, speak, remember and even communicate socially with each person of the family.

Robots will not just transform our daily lives in the future; they will extend them, not only for fun, but also for necessity. We just have to wait a bit for this to fully materialize.

This will be very cool, I believe. What do you think?
