AppsAfrica has released a shortlist of finalists for the fifth edition of the AppsAfrica Innovation Awards.
This year’s award got over 400 applications across 52 countries that spanned through 14 categories.
The winners would be announced in Cape Town on Monday, November 11, 2019, from the 70 selected finalists.
The categories of the innovation award cut across; agritech, blockchain, best Africa app, changing Africa, disruptive innovation, fintech, edtech, enterprise solution, health tech, internet of things, m-commerce, mobility and transport, media and entertainment, social impact.
The 70 finalists got selected across the world and 12 of them are from Nigeria.
Here is a list of the selected Nigerian platforms for the AppsAfrica Innovation Awards
El-kanis and Partners

The company’s mission is to empower all people with the financial access they need to pursue a life of dignity and prosperity.
Flutterwave
Provides a complete payment solution that allows you to accept payments, make payouts and manage your business funds from one integrated platform.
54gene
Founded in 2019 to address the significant gap in the global genomics market. 54gene aims to unlock the African genome by building the world’s first and largest pan-African biobank.
Together with other pharmaceutical and biotech partners, the platform plans to study this data set to identify diagnostic and therapeutic targets that benefit people all over the world.
Helium Health
This health tech platform has been enabling hospitals and clinics to go-digital almost instantly using their flagship electronic medical records (EMR) system.
