At TECHwithCFA we have reviewed some of the high-end smartphones currently in the market. One other phone we are going to take a look at today is the Tecno P5.
Most of the time, we want a phone that oozes class, style and elegance. We may be tempted to think that we have to spend large sums of money to achieve these, however, the Tecno P5 offers an affordable way of getting a phone that is will not only satisfy ones expectations, but also be pocket friendly.
Design
The phone measures 124.3*65.5*10.5 mm. For individuals who love style and express that in color, this phone provides a variety to choose from. It is available in grey, white, yellow and black colors. The phone is fully touchscreen, which is a TFT capacitive touchscreen that supports up to 256,000 colors. The screen is 4.0 inches long with 480 x 800 pixels: this translates to an average of 233 pixels per inch.
Connectivity
A drawback of Tecno P5 phone is that it does not support 4G networks but it makes up for that by supporting 3G networks that can handle uplink speeds of 22.2 megabytes per second (Mbps), while the phone can handle download links of 5.76 megabytes per second. Tecno P5 supports both GPRS and EDGE networks and in addition to these, the phone offers access to wireless networks which makes it convenient for the users of large amounts of data to use data at minimal charges. Tecno P5 runs on version 3 of Bluetooth, but it lacks Near Field Communication capability. It is equipped with global positioning system which makes it easier to track your movements. The phone offers dual micro-SIM capability, and this enables you to subscribe to more than one network, thus, enabling variety for the users. The browser supports HTML 5, while other Internet related applications that the phone supports include: Facebook, Google search, and YouTube among others.
Camera
For lovers of pictures, the primary camera has 5 megapixels with face and smile detection while the front camera has 2 Megapixels. The camera is good.
Battery
The battery is 1800mAh, and it is Li-Ion battery that offers 288 hours of standby time and as much talk time as 8½ hours which is more than enough especially for people who enjoy making phone calls.
Software
Tecno P5 has Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, while it has a 1 GHz dual-core processor accompanied with a Random Access Memory of 512 MB which makes it convenient for game lovers who love 3D games like fruit ninja and angry birds. The internal memory is only 4GB, and, therefore, the buyers will need to incur additional costs to procure more memory space. The advantage is that the expandable memory can handle up to 32 GB, which is more than enough for most phone users.
The phone is fitted with sensors that include: an ambient light sensor, a compass that auto detects the northern position on a phone’s map and an accelerometer.
Music
Music lovers have not been left out. Tecno P5 enable users to listen to their favorite radio stations by tuning the radio frequencies. It supports MP4, MPEG, WAV, and H.264, eACC+ /AC3 /FLAC player which enables the users to play a wide array of video files.
Verdict
Tecno P5 is a stylish Android phone that is cost-friendly and offers a valuable range of services.
