Popular local pay television platform, StarTimes Nigeria, has taken a leap forward in making subscription payment by its customers seamless with the introduction of Remita, the country’s leading e-payment solution as its package subscription medium partner.

The new payment system is with less hassle, faster, and more convenient, and with this development, customers on the StarTimes platform can now make daily subscriptions for as little as N60, using their credit and credit cards.

They also have an option to pay through the internet banking platform of their banks via Remita at any commercial bank branch or any of more than 500 Microfinance bank branches across the country.

To help its customers not miss a moment of their best entertainment shows and other bumper packages on the platform, StarTimes, subscribers can also automate subscription payment by setting up a Standing Order on Remita.

What this means is that they no longer need to make manual payments, as the Remita Standing Order ensures their pay-TV subscription is auto-renewed on a stipulated day of the month and guarantees uninterrupted service.

Speaking on this, Mr. Tunde Aina who StarTimes’ Chief Operating Officer, had this to say:

“Our aim is to continue to provide our subscribers with easier ways to access non-stop entertainment on our digital terrestrial and satellite television stations.

“We do not want them to have any barrier – least of all, subscription renewal. This has informed our partnership with Remita…”

“By providing Remita as an additional payment option to our customers, we are once again affirming our commitment to revolutionizing the Pay-TV landscape in Africa and offer surplus entertainment access to subscribers conveniently”.

The email and SMS notifications StarTimes sends to its customers about their subscription renewal will now have a link to make payments.

Once the customer clicks on the link,  they are taken to a page holding their full subscription details and on display. All the subscriber has to do is pick a preferred means of payment and conclude the transaction.

Speaking for SystemSpecs, the developers of Remita, Deremi Atanda who is the Executive Director pointed out thus:

“At SystemSpecs, our objective is to continue to explore ways of delighting our customers

“Our collaboration with StarTimes is  another opportunity to provide one of the innovative features of Remita  which makes payments extremely convenient to users in a new customer  segment.”

StarTimes Nigeria offers its customers nationwide over 480 authorized channels that consist of movies, news, sports, series,  entertainment, kiddie’s programs, religion, fashion, and lots more.

Remita is bent on helping businesses and individuals to easily make and receive payments across various financial institutions and channels.

The Remita Mobile App is available for download on Android and Apple mobile devices, and it places immense financial power in the hands of businesses and individuals.
