Ogun State adopts Remita for Online payments on Landed Properties

The Ogun State Government has given owners of property and residents in the state an easy form of payment option through an online portal.

This is to make payments for charges on amenity and obtain different discounts that is up to 50 per cent.

Mr. Dapo Abiodun, the Executive Governor of the state confirmed it has made payment of the amenities and land use charge easy by employing the Remita online payment platform through channels designated by the government or using any commercial bank in the country.

In a statement made available at the weekend, every Ogun State government demand notices are now accompanied by a unique payment code.

This code is what is required to execute the online payment on the designated portal or any commercial bank in the country.

“The demand notices also have a QR Code for validation of the bill from the Ogun State Government,”, the press statement read.

Further, the statement reads that non-compliance would lead to taking sanctions on the concerned properties, with respect to the provision of the law.

According to the State Government, “payment made between now and September 30, 2020, attracts a 50 per cent discount, payments made between October 1st and October 31, 2020, attracts a 25 per cent discount.”
