Last week, we announced that Gleam will be used to manage our Techsmart,ng giveaways from January 2016 so as to give ample opportunity to any member of the community still finding it difficult to use Rafflecopter as well as distinguish Tech Trends giveaway from Techsmart giveaway. We, therefore, find it pertinent in this piece, to show the members of the community who may not yet be familiar with Gleam, how to enter the Techsmart.ng giveaway, using Gleam as from January 2016.

Before proceeding, let me state that the techsmart.ng giveaway is actually designed for community members who are extremely passionate about the value we offer and are happy to work with us to deepen tech knowledge in Nigeria with or without giveaways.

That said, Gleam is super easy to use, so this guide is for the benefit of those who may find it confusing or difficult. All you need to do is get started (like Rafflecopter) and in no time, you will get used to it as well.

How to Enter the Giveaways using Gleam

1. This is exactly what you will see anytime you encounter the Gleam widget:

Alcatel Pixi

2. The next thing you are expected to do is to login using either Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or simply enter your email.

3. Once you are logged in, you can proceed with the tasks as seen.

Below are the various tasks you will be asked to perform; 5 of them are compulsory while the remaining 5 are optional, but will earn you more points as well as help techsmart.ng to reach more people.

Compulsory Tasks

  1. Leave a Useful, Constructive Comment – 3 points
  2. Tweet on Twitter – 1 point
  3. Subscribe to our Email Updates – 2 points
  4. Share Posts on Social Media – 1 point
  5. Refer your Friends & Family For Extra Entries – 5 points

Optional Tasks

  1. Tweet With The # Hashtag – 1 point
  2. Watch Tech Trends on Youtube – 1 point
  3. Follow TechSmart on Google+ – 1 point
  4. Connect with CFA on Linkedin – 1 point
  5. Subscribe to our RSS Feed – 1 point

As you can see from the above, the points attached to each task gives you an idea of their levels of importance in the quest.

It is also important to point out that some tasks are actually one-off while others are daily tasks. Just to make it easy for you, below are the daily tasks, meaning the tasks you can come back everyday to carry out in order to earn more points.

These are the tasks you can perform daily until the giveaway ends:

  1. Tweet on Twitter
  2. Share posts on Social Media
  3. Refer your Friends & Family For Extra Entries
  4. Tweet With The # Hashtag
  5. Watch Tech Trends on Youtube

Notes

  • Completing all tasks increase your chances in the Giveaway.
  • According to Gleam’s algorithm, completing more entries increases your chances by about 300%
  • As you can see above, referring people to the blog earns you 5 points which shows it is a very important task also.
  • For Referrals: you will not see an increase in entries until you successfully refer someone that is serious enough to actually enter the Giveaway. So, regardless of how many times you share your referral link, no entries will be recorded until they click and register for the Giveaway.
  • Entries close 11:59PM January 31, 2016 for the Monthly Techsmart.ng Giveaway in January, 2016. You will be notified of when entries will close for the other Monthly Techsmart.ng Giveaways as they unfold.
  • If you click on the button and try to tweet, you will be required to authenticate with the Gleam Competitions Twitter app.
  • Also, Facebook will ask you to authorise the Gleam Competitions Facebook app before you can perform any Facebook related actions.
  • Mobile visitors will be directed to a cool, mobile ready site that will make it easy to use Gleam on most smartphones.

Long and short is that Gleam will add more fun to our already funfilled giveaway. All the tasks will be presented in different colours which is good for the eyes and mind.

The most important thing is that as you perform these tasks, you get to learn how to use technology smartly from our various tech posts.

What Are You Waiting For?

Prepare to jump into our fourth Techsmart.ng Giveaway, using gleam, the entries of which we will call for on January 4, 2016 and you might just be lucky enough to be the winner of an Alcatel smartphone that will be up for grabs!
