How does it feel to click the “send” button while typing your email and almost immediately, you realize that you have either sent an incomplete, inappropriate, indignant mail or you have sent the email to the wrong email address? So frustrating and embarrassing indeed! This gives you a fast dive to find and click the “Undo” button, which is always hard to find or in some email systems, is outright unavailable.
Here are some tips on how to customize your email system so you can undo mistakenly sent emails in future.
Gmail’s “Undo Send” feature.
Over the past few years, Google’s Gmail has incredibly grown into the most popular email system, thanks to its great features that are constantly getting improved. One top feature that Gmail has always had is the “Undo Send”, which you only need to enable to enjoy its functionality.
Procedure.
Sign in to Gmail and go to the gear icon at the top-right corner.
In the column, click on the “settings” link.
Then scroll down and find the “Undo Send” button.
Enable it by clicking the checkbox for “Enable Undo Send”. You can go ahead to choose your send cancellation period – 5, 10, 20, or 30 seconds.
Once you are done, click the “Save Changes” button.
To test if your setting will work fine, try sending a message. You will see a notification (message) appear at the top of your Google inbox with an “Undo” link. Click on the” Undo” link and see what happens.
