Founder Institute Lagos has been announced winner of the Incubator/Accelerator Program of the Year 2023 award, presented by the Lagos State Government through the renowned Art of Technology Lagos 5.0 conference.

The highly anticipated event, currently in its fifth edition was held over two days at Landmark Hotel, Victoria Island and focused on two pivotal pillars shaping the future landscape of Lagos State: The Creative Economy and A Digital Lagos.

It featured keynote speakers from the film and digital industry, who in various panels and breakout sessions engaged in insightful discussions on collaborations, technology and exporting youth creativity in Nigeria.

This event was organized by the Co-Executor of AOT 5.0, Victor ‘Gbenga Afolabi, Founder of Eko Innovation Center, and brings together government officials, industry leaders, academics, and civil society to discuss the impact of technology on the city’s development.

The award was presented to the team by the Commissioner of the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Olatubosun Alake.

Speaking on the Award, Managing Director of Founder Institute Lagos, Mr Ifedy Eze said, “We are grateful to the Lagos State Government, the Curator and organizers of the Art of Technology Lagos 5.0 for recognizing our efforts.

This award underscores the impactful contribution of every member of our ecosystem over the last five years, particularly our mentors, partners, founders and the Founder Institute Lagos team.

The timing of the award, coinciding with our 5th year anniversary in Nigeria, adds more significance. This award will undoubtedly fuel our commitment to helping entrepreneurs across the nation build impactful and enduring businesses.”

He also extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Lagos State government for its demonstrated commitment to the growth and development of entrepreneurship in the digital economy and creating a conducive environment for the ecosystem to thrive.
