According to a report, Facebook has stated through an email, that, it has initiated plans to shut down its app version on windows 10 before the end of this month.

This report was culled from an MSPowerUser who shared an email gotten from a Facebook user (shared) that clearly states the impending shutdown of the Facebook app on windows 10 (PCs).

According to the email, the Facebook app will stop working on windows 10 starting from Friday, February 28, 2020, and users have been directed to use their browser to access Facebook from their PCs.

Although, for some time now, Facebook has not provided new updates for the app and its updates have been far in-between unlike its other counterparts that have been switched and converted (Instagram app – PWA, Messenger app – Electron app).

You can find the report released by the MSPowerUser below

“Since you use Facebook for Windows desktop app, we wanted to make sure you’re aware this app will stop working on Friday, February 28, 2020.

You can still access all of your friends and favorite Facebook features by logging in through your browser at www.facebook.com.

For the best experience, make sure you’re using the most current version of our supported browsers including the new Microsoft Edge.

You can still access Messenger through the Facebook website or by logging in through your browser at www.messenger.com.

If you prefer a desktop app for your conversations, try the new Messenger for Windows which you can download now in the Microsoft Store.

Thank you for using Facebook for Windows desktop app, The Facebook Team”

Facebook also stated in the email that; Users can still access the Messenger app on windows 10 (messenger.com) and can download the app on Microsoft store.
