Never lose that which you value; Get Evernote now and treasure every moment.

What is it?

Evernote is a suite of backup and sync services and software designed to help users organize and access the information that they need from anywhere. The information is usually in the form of notes. A note can be in the form of formatted text, handwritten ink note, a voice memo, photograph or even a webpage or page excerpt. Through Evernote, a user is able to sort the notes into folders, tag, edit, annotate, comment on, export and search the notes.

It is compatible with all major OS platforms including Windows, Android, iOS, OS X, BlackBerry OS, Chrome OS and webOS among others.

Essentially it lets you store anything ranging from thoughts, photos, notes, recipes and music in cloud.

Recent releases offer nested notebooks, reminders and several other incredible back up features on the go.

Features

Photo upload tools, text editor and voice recording tools are offered. These can be used in a combination to help you manage whatever you upload to cloud.

The web app has 3 panes; on the left is a pane for notebooks and tagging, at the center, one can preview all the notes related to your search and on the right is the editing area for the selected note.

Notes can be edited locally on your device, then stored in the cloud and synchronized so that they can be edited across multiple devices. This data is, thus, available from any location as long as internet connection exists.

Downloadable software of Evernote is also available. This allows you to work on your notes in offline mode and then upload them later. In this offline mode, however, image recognition and indexing is not possible.

Using Evernote

Data is entered in various forms:

  • As keyboard typed notes
  • As images captured from cameras and other supported sources
  • As voice recordings taken using the voice recording tool
  • As webpages that have been captured and clipped to Evernote

Evernote uses Optical Character Recognition technology to index and recognize text that may appear in pictures and photos.

Evernote can automatically add geotags to notes.

Sharing of notes saved in Evernote is possible in various ways. First, through Evernote, you can add users who can access and edit the notes. The notes can also be sent via email. Evernote’s integration to twitter allows storing and forwarding of tweets.

Free Vs. Premium

Evernote premium users have more storage capacity of up to 1GB per month compared to free users who can only upload 60MB each month. Premium users additionally enjoy faster word recognition in images, enhanced security and sharing features and word search in PDF files.

The cost for premium is $5 per month and $45 annually.

Acquiring Evernote will no doubt be beneficial in more ways than we can list. You will have nothing to lose; nothing will ever be lost and you will have everything to gain!
