Cardano blockchain’s parent corporation, Input-output has announced an incubator program called Ariob to help build the Cardano ecosystem.
A small number of applications will be chosen to participate in a support program that will run through the first half of 2022.
The program provides solutions aimed at fulfilling creative potential, putting ideas to the test, and determining the best product through prototypes.
Ariob will also assist in connecting projects with educational institutions, government agencies, non-governmental groups, and local businesses.
9 projects have been accepted into the plan so far:
DirectEd
DirectEd is working on a solution to help students in minimal nations get scholarships by leveraging blockchain technology’s accessibility, peer-to-peer, and smart contract capabilities to cut costs and remove corruption.
Many gifted kids lack the financial resources they need to reach their full potential, but benefactors may be hesitant to donate for two reasons:
They can’t guarantee that the money goes straight to the student, and it’s expensive to attach restrictions to donations to ensure that funds are utilized for the intended purpose.
DirectEd addresses these issues by allowing students to make conditional peer-to-peer donations in an open, safe, and low-cost manner.
Ekival CanuckCrypto
A blockchain-based escrow program that enables users to use the Hawala fund transfer method. Hawala is a money-transfer mechanism in which funds are transferred to an agent, who then orders a distant associate to pay the eventual receiver.
Ekival shows users in other areas location-based influxes of value (liquidity pools in the case of money transfers) that they can commit to accumulating on behalf of recipients.
DeliveryChain
With a peer-to-peer blockchain-based system, DeliveryChain hopes to challenge the centralized postal sector.
The goal is to make parcel delivery across Africa more affordable, faster, and dependable.
African Blockchain Developers Center (ABCD)
A talent ecosystem aimed at mentoring Africans and facilitating the development of groundbreaking projects.
ABCD’s operations are aimed at addressing the developer skill gap by providing educational opportunities and serving as a link between competent individuals and potential clients.
The CheCha
This is a virtual USD voucher system designed to address Zimbabwe’s small change problem. CheCha facilitates micro-loans by acting as a trusted intermediary between clients and merchants.
Vendors can enter partner networks, enabling loan payback within their isolated system, and user-to-user transactions are now allowed with the launch of $ADA wallets.
In addition, the site will be the nation’s first universally acknowledged liquidity marketplace for fiat and cryptocurrency.
Thrift Finance
$THRIFT registered users administer, manage, and improve a decentralized and trustless thrift savings system.
Through smart contracts, Thrift aspires to make Africa’s financial system more accessible and efficient.
HippoCrades
HippoCrades is the sixth game in the HippoCrades series. A decentralized healthcare data market that leverages blockchain to transfer data between healthcare institutions while maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
HippoCrades also offers healthcare packages and APIs to help developers create Web3-ready decentralized health applications.
WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency)
WADA’s vision for a more accessible economic structure facilitated by blockchain technology is to build a Web3 micro-lending solution that empowers Africans on the continent and in the diaspora.
Waya Collective
Waya Collective is establishing a decentralized system in order to achieve a new level of global industrial balance. For everyone concerned, the present system of centralized production, along with extensive and complex supply chains, is becoming increasingly difficult.
The Waya Collective aims to provide Africa-focused producers with decentralized access to finance, know-how, and a network of trustworthy partners.
