Applications are now open for the NextGen Developers Hackathon 2025, a technology challenge for undergraduates and early-stage developers across Africa.
This is more than just a hackathon, it’s a launchpad for undergraduates, young developers and blockchain innovators in West Africa to create groundbreaking solutions on Cardano, one of the world’s most advanced blockchain platforms.
Thematic Areas
Participants will engage in developing solutions within the following domains:
- DeFi & Payments: Designing seamless financial tools tailored for the African context.
- AI & Blockchain Integration: Exploring the convergence of AI technologies with the Cardano blockchain platform.
- Identity & Governance: Creating secure digital identity frameworks and governance models.
- Social Impact & Sustainability: Leveraging blockchain to address pressing societal and environmental challenges in Africa.

Eligibility for Participation
Undergraduate & Early-Career Developers interested in blockchain/Web3 and eager to build on Cardano – If you’re currently in school or have less than 3 years of development experience, you’re eligible.
