Marketing is a very important factor in businesses and each time the market space grows, the competition expands.

Marketing is now focused on creating value for the customers, building and maintaining relationships between customers and businesses which would serve or benefit both parties at the end.

The world of marketing is rapidly changing and unfolding before us due to the advancement and focus on new media, new marketing has to catch up with this focus and upgrade to this new technology which has been provided by the availability of the internet.

Marketing is a process that leads to the satisfaction of customer needs. The aimed result of this is for the customer to engage the company or business and value the relationship between the customer and the company or business.

Marketing could be direct or creative (also known as indirect marketing).

Small businesses preferably venture into direct marketing due to inadequate resources and funds, they instead hit the message and engage in a more direct and straight forward marketing towards the potential customers.

Businesses might decide to take it further and step up their game to gain profit.

There is a high recommendation in going for creative marketing or make use of the creative concept in marketing instead of just banking on direct marketing.

Many individuals and potential customers are more attracted to marketing done in a very creative way especially following the trend or grabbing their attention in a unique way, either using words, art or graphic or even the style the marketing takes.

Different customers have their preferences, but the most important thing for a successful creative marketing advertisement is the ability for your target audience or potential customers to see through the creatives.

Direct Marketing and Creative Marketing are both very important for businesses. However, due to some limitations, one might have to stick to just one but if you can instead get the two off the ground as it will prove better for you and your business.

The main thing about marketing is to focus on your customers, what they want to see and what they want to hear, also making sure the marketing message gets conveyed in a way that it gets understood and the underlying message is clearly seen by the potential customer.

Whether direct or creative marketing, whichever of the approach you employ,it should make David Ogilvy (popularly known as “The Father of Advertising”) proud.

Creative marketing engages the feelings or emotions while direct marketing just punches the line of the message getting passed.

Eventually it is really not entirely about how you are saying it and more importantly of what you are saying.

‘The “what” you are saying’ would really be more of a determinant of your success or failure than “how” would ever be.
