According to a leading female thinker, Author and Writer, C. Joybell, “The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow, is if we change. The only way that we can change, is if we learn. The only way we can learn, is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed, is, if we throw ourselves out into the open”.

The constancy of change, in every life and society, beckons on the need, to manage such change.

Managing change is a capacity for all, which increases output and personal satisfaction.

Africa can meet up with other regions, in the revolution and use of communication gadgets, such as phones and others, such as the internet: it has been able to go beyond the era of desktop computers and landlines.

The gateway to Africa’s achievement in the digital revolution is its meticulous innovations, with engineers and digital experts, adapting technology to suit the specific needs of the continent.

According to 2016 data, from the International Telecommunication Union, (ITU), 80.8% of Africans, have a mobile phone.

Cell phones can transform Africa successfully because it serves as, major access to the internet.

If the government and the private firms in Africa, keep building the right foundations, the internet would transform diverse sectors, such as healthcare, agriculture, retail and contribute about $300 billion, to Africa’s GDP yearly, by 2025. (McKinsey Global Institute’s, (MGI), “Lions go digital” report).

Why exactly do we, then, need to embrace digital revolution in Africa? These include the following:

E-commerce

Online banking, online buying, and selling have upgraded the economic system of Africa as a continent.

Today in Africa it is possible to pay bills using a cellphone, transfer money through mobile money, use ATMs, POS, and other forms of online mobile transactions.

Agriculture

The digital revolution reduces farmers’ negative surprised and shock.

Access to the weather forecast and market information through modernized technology expose farmers to the right information; farmers make decisions regarding the plant, crops to plant, and where to sell crops.

Healthcare

Access to information is one major drive of digitization which grossly benefits society.

People have access through the internet and other digital means to useful health tips.

It is possible to also contact health services online and seek medical help online without physical stress.

Health care facilities like Telemedicine help patients collect with doctors using video conferencing on mobile phones.

Physicians also follow up with patients and prescribe drugs using the online application.

Social connectivity

Digital technology eases communication and relationship amongst friends, family, and colleagues regardless of your location.

Communication is as by words video, audio, websites, and blogs.

Texting, messaging and connectivity are also made possible with social media and at the end of the day, no one is left out in the digital world; news as lock updates are gotten easily and regularly.

Digital technology has developed almost every part of our modern life.

The areas revolutionized in recent times are Shopping, entertainment, travel, work, and communications nearly every aspect of modern life.
