Are you looking to develop a website? If yes, then it is important to note that there are hundreds of millions of websites online and, therefore, you need to create an effective website if you wish to succeed with adding your own website online too.

Below are 4 attributes of an Effective Website:

a) A Responsive and Mobile First design

The world is mobile, which simply means that, anyone creating a website just for desktop visitors would lose out, big time because, more and more people across the world, access the Internet from their mobile devices. This is why you have to ensure that your website or blog is responsive and mobile friendly.

b) Easy Navigation

Website owners are usually tempted to load their websites with all kinds of stuff, making navigation a lot more difficult. Make it easy for your clients or visitors to find whatever they are looking for on your website and also to be able to dig deeper into your inner pages without much difficulty. This is good for both your visitors as well as the search engine bots.

c) Security

One of the biggest issues facing online users today is security on the Internet. Did you come across the report that North Korean hackers may have been exploiting Nigerian banks? That is a sign of things to come as Nigeria becomes more technologically driven.

Besides ensuring that you implement a number of security tweaks on your website, it might be good to also add an SSL certificate which would make your url begin with https, which secures your website instead of just http.

d) Ensure you choose an Easy to remember domain name, preferably on .NG.

A number of people make the mistake of using difficult or long domain names on .com instead of trying .NG, which is Nigeria’s brand on the Internet. Note that, the easier your domain name is, the better.

All said and done, however, it is your duty to develop a beautiful, user-friendly and fast website that is capable of providing pleasant web experience to your visitors. Go out there and develop a winning website, using these tips.
