The Microsoft Imagine Cup Junior 2023 application period is currently open. Imagine Cup Junior, now in its fourth year, is an intriguing chance for students aged 13 to 18 to learn about technology and how it can be utilized to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems while competing in a worldwide student challenge.

It’s an excellent introduction to technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and cybersecurity, and it’s appropriate for all skill levels, particularly beginners.

Students can participate in Imagine Cup Junior through a Team Leader (educator, instructor, parent, or guardian – over the age of 18).

Team Leaders register students on their behalf and obtain access to the Imagine Cup Junior resource bundle to help with learning and the challenge. Students work in groups of one (1) to six (6) to create a unique solution that addresses Microsoft’s Al for Good Programs and fill out the Imagine Cup Junior PowerPoint entry template.

Microsoft’s aim is to enable every individual and organization on the planet to achieve more. They think that today’s students will be tomorrow’s changemakers, therefore they must provide them with the tools, resources, and opportunities to master new skills and prepare for the future workforce.

Eligibility
  • Available to students aged 13 to 18
  • Students from all over the world are welcome to join

When registering for Imagine Cup Junior, Team Leaders will have access to all the tools they need to educate students and manage a successful Imagine Cup Junior challenge. Among these resources are:

  • Beginners Package consists of six (6) 45-minute instruction modules. More Design courses in Minecraft: Education Edition are new this year, as is the possibility for students to develop a prototype of their invention using Microsoft Azure for Students.
  • Deep Learning Modules – six sets of detailed content
  • Team Leader Toolkit – Use participation resources such as social media templates, certificates, posters, and t-shirt templates to get students enthusiastic about participating in Imagine Cup Junior.

Team Leaders can also obtain hackathon materials to organize a hackathon in their classroom to assist students to learn more about best practices for running the Microsoft Imagine Cup and to enable additional learning.

The deadline for application is Wednesday, 10 May 2023.
