A 200-page book usually approximates 50,000 words.
If one reads at the rate of 200 wpm (words per minute), it will take 50,000 / 200 / 60 = 4.17 hours to read it.
If one can read at the rate of 500 wpm, it will take approximately 1.67 hours to read.
If a child can read at the rate of 800 wpm, it will take approximately 1.00 hours to read just a book. This is why some of the kids can read two-three books in a day.

It is easier to teach speed reading to children than adults, just like it is easier for a child to learn a new language than adults.
