There are some smart home tech innovations that make staying at home easier and more convenient. These innovations are based on creativity and smart use of technology to enrich people’s lives. This is usually referred to as the Internet of Things. Here, we look at some of these innovations and how they can affect our everyday living.

ADT Pulse

This innovation connects different sensors to a smart phone application and enables people to do different things. ADT pulse today enables its users to turn on lights, set up alarms, monitor carbon monoxide and control heating systems with their voice.

Budgee

Budgee is a smart robot that assists you to do things indoors. It can carry items to a maximum of 50 pounds. Designed to work with a transmitter that the owner wears, budgee can follow you along with a pace of about 2.4 miles per hour. It comes with a battery life of 10 hours.

Dacor Discovery IQ

This is an all inclusive wall oven that is run with an android operating system. It comes in either solo or dual doors. Dacor’s discovery convention ovens have WIFI connections and graphic user interface to enable you control your baking.

Invoxia Triby

Triby is a kitchen communication appliance that acts both as a blue tooth communication device and a speaker. It can be connected with two smart phones and users can call into it through an app from their phones. Furthermore, it comes with a messaging system that can enable you to receive short messages.

Netatmo Welcome

Netatmo welcome is a security camera that notifies you when members of your family arrive home. It also sends a message to your cell phone when doors and mail boxes are opened.

Samsung Smarthings

This is a smart device for your home with motion and multi sensors. It can be synced with your phone, notifying you of different happenings in your home.

Some of these home tech innovations are already operational in some Nigerian homes while others are yet to make a showing. Ultimately, however, every household in Nigeria should brace up for the impending wave of Internet of Things.
