The year 2015 is another opportunity for Nigerians to elect a new set of leaders that will steer the Nigerian ship for the next four years.
Although I am not a card carrying member of any political party yet, I am interested in how much of technology we fuse into the electoral process. Consequently, my self-assigned task has been to closely observe what the umpire and the various political contenders have been doing around the digital space.
I recognise the importance of this topic which made me treat it in the most recent edition of my ICT Radio Show. For me, it is just a way of reminding Nigerians of the immerse opportunities that modern technologies present to us to strategically demand for good governance from our leaders.
From my modest experience as a social media consultant, I can tell you that politicians, irrespective of how highly placed or revered they appear, are now becoming more conscious of what is said about them on social media. This for me is indeed a fantastic development for our polity.
