There is no doubt that the greatest threat to modern technology today is security. The truth is that online security keeps getting worse by the day. The story is told of a company called “The Hacking Company”. The company had its systems hacked and over 400 gigabytes of information of all their past activities were released online. The most interesting but frightening thing was that a State government was one of its clients! You can imagine the anxiety this news gave the State government.
What particularly shocked the world more was that one of the most used pieces of software has not been entirely safe because of a number of flaws that were secretly exploited by the hacking team to target any computer in the world. I am talking about Adobe Flash.
It is, however, not my intention to scare you but to keep you informed. My recommendation going forward, therefore, is that you should not allow flash activate automatically on your PC whether Windows or Mac, rather choose only the “click to activate” option. That way, you are sure it only runs on sites that you trust with your full knowledge and permission. Also, ensure that you are running the latest version Adobe Flash.
