Let’s face it, technology literally rules the mankind today and I am not in doubt that God allowed it to be that way. The point I am trying to make here is that every facet of our lives is in one way or the other affected massively by technology. Take for example, last week’s piece which focused on the use of technology to fight the dreaded Ebola disease that continues to ravage parts of West Africa. I could go on about how technology is transforming education through MOOCs or how countries like India have used technology effectively to create millions of jobs. I trust the message is clear that Nigeria is trying but it has yet to be positioned to make the most of technology for development and job creation.
It is not all sad news though, once again, our young men and women have proved that with or without government support, innovations can be brought to bear and certain noticeable disruptions will be felt across board. In today’s piece, I will be taking a deeper look at how technology has brought about changes to some industries and of course, certain other industries will also experience something similar sooner or later. — Continue Reading
