The CVL Economic Growth Sector Celebration is our initiative to celebrate outstanding contributions of key sectors economic growth and share knowledge on available opportunities for the sector. Our maiden edition is targeted at Nigeria’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector and it is aimed at showcasing the industry as an exemplar to other sectors or upcoming entrepreneurs in such field.
According to a businessday report after the rebased GDP, The telecommunications and information services sector contributed 8.68 percent to the Nigerian economy equivalent to N6.97 trillion ($44.3 billion) out of the total rebased GDP estimate of N80.22 trillion ($510 billion). This compares with N364.4 billion ($2.3 billion) in the 2012 non-rebased GDP time series. Telecommunications is the star performer in Nigeria’s rebased GDP figures.
This above statement gives credence to the fact the ICT sector deserves to be honoured and this why what CVL is doing is commendable and should be supported.
The event will feature a keynote speech, quick videos and honor scrolls of deserving ICT companies. Guest speakers will include government officials and industry leaders from within and beyond the country. Keynote Address by Honourable Minister of ICT (Dr. (Mrs) Omobola Johnson)
