Zoom has announced plans to lift its 40-minute meeting limit on all its free accounts across the world. This development is in recognition of the world’s upcoming holidays.
Recall that the video conferencing app lifted the 40-minute restriction during the last Thanksgiving celebration.
Among the holidays are Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day with respect to the region’s dates and timing.
- 10 a.m ET Wednesday, December 23 till 6 a.m
- 10 a.m ET Saturday, December 26 till 6 a.m
- 10 a.m ET Wednesday, December 30 till 6 a.m
This development follows the video conferencing seeing the need for families to have a virtual connection during the celebration owing to global restrictions that have also impacted social gathering.

According to Zoom, users don’t need to enable any feature on the video conferencing app as its restriction will be automatically lifted on the assigned dates.

Zoom has however warned that users during the period of the unlimited calls should protect their session from uninvited guests.
Users can do this by not sharing their meeting IDs with non-family members.
