Improving Business Growth with Data Analytics: Why it’s a Priority

It is a very good sign that the number of woman entering various professions are increasing by the day, but the number of women pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, (STEM), are actually falling. Consequently, women are usually under-represented in tech-related jobs, particularly in technical posts and at management levels. In the technology sector, there is a big disparity between men and women. Studies have shown that, while 57% of jobs in the whole industry are held by women in the tech sector, that figure is only 18 percent. This is not good for technology companies and the women themselves. This also makes the tech world to be male-dominated, and adds to the cycle of woman discouragement.

Why We Need More Women in Tech?

  1. Gender Diversity Leads to Better Products and Results

Diversity of gender in teams tends to benefit companies. It helps to make for superior products, less failures, greater results and better bottom lines .According to a recent research, gender-diverse Research and Development (R&D) teams result in greater creativity, productivity and better decisions. Diversity improves overall performance, morale, and the end product.

  2. Discrimination Will Be Less

Since the number of woman women in the tech sector is very few, sometimes they face discrimination. For example, most of the companies tend to offer female workers less salary than for males. The female workers are also mostly viewed as less competent and less hirable. These types of unexpected discrimination will be less if it is not regarded unusual for female to pursue technology related careers.

  3. Women Think And Act Differently

The thinking of men and woman are different on average. Females are usually more psychologically sensitive and more empathetic. They are also very design-focused. These qualities are required in today’s tech innovation environment for high quality products.

These are my thoughts. What do you think?
