Village capital in collaboration with International finance corporation is organizing a Startup Accelerator program for 2021. This program is conceived to support budding businesses across sub-Saharan Africa.

This program is a deliberate attempt to bridge unemployment gaps, build future captains of industries while preparing them for the future of work.

As it stands, Africa is projected to have the largest working population in the oncoming years and a sizeable number of the young populace may join the teeming unemployed figures across the continent if this trend is not addressed.

The unpleasant reality is the low supply of quality jobs for these mentally sound able-bodied individuals.

Statistics have shown that almost half of people of working age are unemployed in Africa with one person out of every five struggling to eke a living in the informal sector which often time do not take care of basic costs of living.

This is one of the socio-economic factors responsible for human capital flight and rural-urban drift faced in Africa.

Accelerator programs such as this are fast rewriting the narratives across Africa. They are championing the entrepreneurial crusade with market-based solutions, strategic job windows, and other benefits to help youths in sub-Saharan Africa prepare and fit into the future of work in the global scheme of things.

If you fall within the category of the game-changers across the Continent, take advantage of the accelerator program. Registration details are shared in the oncoming lines.

Eligibility
  • Innovations like upskilling/reskilling programs
  • Credentialing programs
  • Financial health for informal workers
  • New approaches to apprenticeship or employment matching
