Africa’s leading financial and human capital technology giant, SystemSpecs has unveiled the individuals who will serve as judges in the 2021 edition of its annual Children’s Day Essay Competition.
The notable personalities include Bayo Adekanmbi, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Transformation Officer; Emeka Okoye, Chief Semantic Architect and Knowledge Engineer at Cymantiks Nigeria; and Jumoke Lawoyin, techpreneur and Chief Executive Officer at Lucy.ng.
This news comes as the deadline for the submission of applications into the essay competition was also extended to April 30, 2021, in response to requests by schools and students that might be prevented from participating in the competition owing to the irregular school terms across Nigeria.
Other accomplished figures appointed to the evaluation panel are Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr., tech entrepreneur, business coach, and returning judge of the competition; Wale Fatade, an accomplished journalist and editor at The Conversation; Jide Ayegbusi, a social entrepreneur and founder of the edtech platform, Edusko; and Funmi Oyatogun, celebrated travel experience, creator and environment crusader.
“At SystemSpecs, we are convinced that a strong technology foundation is necessary to reposition Nigeria to compete favorably in the comity of nations and thrive in contemporary times. Through our Children’s Day Essay Competition, we seek to stimulate young Nigerians to become more technologically aware and better positioned to creatively apply technology as a natural response to everyday challenges around them,” said ‘Deremi Atanda, an Executive Director at SystemSpecs.
Additional members of the evaluation panel include respected individuals from various fields such as media, law, technology, security, and the arts.
They are Ayodele Arowosegbe, media consultant and author; Abubakar Idris, financial and tech journalist; Dr. Hafis Bello, co-founder of LeedsNG; Dewale Otolorin, UK-based IT Governance, risk and control advisor; Adedoyin Jaiyesinmi, Chief Communications Consultant at The Comms Avenue; Olo Egbokhare, health law and bioethics enthusiast; and Ifeoluwa Ogunfuwa, tech content provider of repute and returning judge of the competition.
The distinguished panel of judges has a duty to evaluate and select winning entries for the top prizes in the junior and senior categories of the competition. The judges also have an opportunity to bring to national consciousness and suggest implementation options from the bright ideas proposed by participants across Nigeria.
SystemSpecs, the software giant renowned for its innovative payment solution Remita, HumanManager, and Paylink is the organizer of the annual event.
Winners of the 2021 edition of the SystemSpecs Children’s Day Essay Competition will be announced on Children’s Day, May 27, 2021.
