Africa’s payment gateway SimplePay today announced it has secured Level 1 Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification which is the world’s highest security standard for organizations that handle branded credit cards. SimplePay is now among the very few service providers in Nigeria that have this certification.

With the certification, SimplePay is able to securely process payments from the major card schemes including Verve, Visa, and MasterCard. This certification also allows SimplePay to offer merchants new payment options such as one-click and recurring payments.

SimplePay has been revamped since it secured additional funding from Nigeria’s Bank of Industry and today April 1, 2016, the new SimplePay platform officially goes live at www.simplepay.ng to offer clean and simple integration for merchants. For startups, SimplePay is offering free integration and is charging the industry lowest fee.

The revamped platform offers easy integration, superb support, features and solutions that are tailored to meet the needs of businesses.

Simeon Ononobi, Founder of SimplePay said: “We will become the cheapest, most secure and reliable payment gateway in Nigeria. It is free for all to integrate and we have a cheaper fee for all startups for a period of 6 months. We charge 1.9% plus NGN10 which is the cheapest fee you can find right now in Nigeria. This is to encourage startups like us to connect; and to also help them meet their payment needs.

“For those that have a large user base, SimplePay still promises to negotiate these fees further down. We have a dedicated team of developers from Portugal and Nigeria working tirelessly to keep developing new payments solutions and services for merchants.”

Startups can try the service out at www.simplepay.ng. Merchants can either use the set of well documented APIs for a custom integration or can use one of the many plugins available for Magento, WooCommerce/WordPress, Android, Joomla and others.
