Time and again, new inventions continue to crop up to solve human problems, meet specific pain points and generally make life stress-free.

Leveraging fully these technological inventions are entrepreneurs who desire to develop their businesses, make profits, satisfy their customers and earn their trust.

Before the cashless policy was introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2011, the Nigerian economy was heavily reliant on cash for the transaction of goods and services contrary to what obtained in developed countries.

A decade later, Nigeria is not a fully cashless society, however, Nigerians are still benefiting from electronic payment solutions. For instance, through the proliferation of online mobile apps making payments has never been easier, cheaper, faster, and seamless.

These applications not only make sending and receiving payments from any location possible but provide reliable audit trails, helping the Nigerian system of transactions, meet international standards. One such revolutionary app is Remita.

Launched in 2005 by SystemSpecs, Nigeria’s leading fintech company, Remita is an electronic payment platform that enables individuals and corporates to easily receive and make payments, across all banks, from anywhere and at any time.

Apart from its use to collate funds for the Federal government of Nigeria, through the Treasury Single Account, (TSA), the Remita solution has other notable features.

Remita allows users to pay electricity bills, subscribe to Multi-choice Channels on a monthly basis, buy airtime and data, and pay their taxes, among other things.

Having explained that Remita is a multi-payment platform that is user-friendly, ensuring maximum user experience. As a first-timer, suppose you want to pay a tax to the Lagos State Government on Remita, how would you go about it? Consider the steps below:

How to Pay Lagos State Government
  • Visit www.remita.net and click Pay FGN and State TSA
