Since its inception in September 2012, the Nigeria Internet Governance Forum (NIGF) has been trying to promote Nigeria’s position on the global internet ecosystem by advancing internet governance issues in the nation through a multi-stakeholder framework. This year, the Local Multi-stakeholders Advisory Group (LMAG) in conjunction with other local stakeholders will be organising a two-day Forum, tagged NIGF 2015.
NIGF 2015 is aimed at discussing issues around Internet Governance Ecosystem potentials and how these can be harnessed for economic growth and sustenance in Nigeria. By the end of the Forum:
- A consensus will have been reached among stakeholders on a framework for internet governance in Nigeria
- Nigeria’s most critical and evolving internet governance issues will have been discussed
- Various efforts to advance Nigeria’s position in regional and global IGF Forums will have been made
The first day is dedicated to Nigerian youths as a pre-event. On this day, high profile guests from Nigeria’s ICT community will be in attendance. Renowned personalities will be speaking at the Youth Workshop on ‘Internet of Everything and Your Business Opportunities’.
Notable on the Resource personnel of the Youth Workshop is TV and Radio Tech programs presenter and Founder of Techsmart, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr. (CFA). He will be presenting on E-learning content.
This year’s NIGF will be held on July 20 and 21, 2015 at NAF Conference Center and Suites in Jahi District, Abuja. Registration is ongoing and will close on July 14, 2015 by midnight (GMT).
