LG takes CSR Project to Gbagada General Hospital; Donates Air Conditioners, Mosquito Nets

Gbagada General Hospital received air conditioners and Mosquito Nets, a donation from LG Electronics, a global leader in consumer electronics. In accordance with the needs of the hospital, on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

This donation is intended to improve the conditions of patients and staff and providing means for more efficient work of the administrative office.

The donation is part of LG Electronics strategy for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and concern for the society.

The brand has been involved in similar activities over the years and have received accolades from Nigerian consumers, for having their interests at heart, in developing cutting-edge technological products, and embarking on this gesture, in order to enhance health care delivery services in Nigeria.

The donated items are expected to meet the needs of the health centre in their mission to provide people in the community with excellent health care services.

In his opening speech, Head of Corporate Marketing, LG Electronics West Africa Operations, Mr. Hari Elluru, said;

“We are aware of the role that, as such a large company, we have, towards the community in which we operate and therefore, social care is always the focus of our activities.

We have demonstrated the same, through a variety of charitable activities, campaigns and donations, which are always our response where help is needed the most.

Healthcare institutions are institutions that concern all of us as citizens and therefore, their condition should be everyone’s concern and an opportunity for help. As an important business entity in this country, we remain committed to the welfare of citizens and improvement of everyday life.”

Speaking further, he said: “We believe that the air conditioning units, as well as the other items we are donating today, will improve the service delivery in the hospital and provide the enabling environment for the medical personnel.”

He hinted that it is the ultimate plan of LG Electronics to constantly contribute to the good life of its highly esteemed customers and the general public.

“This visit, which is part of LG Electronics’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, is aimed at reaching out to health institutions in the country.

It is my firm belief that the items we are donating today will go a long way to empower this health facility, as well as the people of this community in their quest to enjoy sound health by empowering the hospital staff to do their jobs more efficiently”.

Receiving the items on behalf of the management of Gbagada General Hospital, the Medical Director, Dr. Olusegun Babafemi, commended LG Electronics for the kind gesture.

“As a public health institution, we are indeed proud to be the recipients of these distinctively designed air conditioners and mosquito nets. All this goes in favor of faster and more efficient work of the whole staff and better conditions for patients.

This donation from LG Electronics is an example of active care of the business sector for the community and public institutions, and the benefit that the patients are going to experience is the true value of the donation.”

Speaking further, he called on other corporate organisations and public-spirited individuals to emulate LG in responding to the needs of health institutions.

He affirmed that there are many organisations that are in dire need of support. By donating these innovative electronic products, LG Electronics, through this event, has shown itself to be a brand that truly believes in the health sector.

On what the brand offers to the Nigerian consumers in terms of innovation and quality, he said “the LG brand stands for durability and health consciousness, which has helped in no small measure to preserve environments and help to improve quality of life. We implore LG to keep up the good work, so that all and sundry can benefit. Life is truly good with LG! He submitted.

Corroborating on the firm stand of LG Electronics brand offerings is the General Manager, Air Solution Division, Mr. Joonkyu Song.

“We constantly develop products from the feedback of our esteemed consumers across the world. We do not junk the markets within products that won’t benefit the consumers but, rather make products that support the good life many desires to live and to see them through stages of life expectancy. We say in LG “Life’s Good”. Indeed, life is better with us, when you come in contact with our brands.

“We are here to give back to society and we will keep doing this for our highly esteemed consumers and the public for better the ecosystem and support the government where necessary, within our CSR initiatives”, he added.

In her closing remark, the LG Home Appliances Brand Ambassador, Ms. Rita Dominic said the ultimate aim of LG Electronics is to constantly promote healthy living with various home appliances that support that dream.

“One of the reasons to associate with the LG brand as their Ambassador is because of their innovative products, which support life expectancy and good living.”

It could be recalled that over the years, the company has been committed to its CSR activities and has donated to health facilities in the North, South and Western parts of this country.
