Four different iPhone 14 models, three different Apple Watch Series 8 models, numerous Mac computers with M2 and M3 chips, a number of low-end and high-end iPad tablets, Apple’s first mixed-reality headset, two new pairs of AirPods Pro earbuds, a new HomePod, and an updated Apple TV are among the products that will be released.
Gurman has previously provided information about some of these gadgets, and the rumor mill is also churning out information about numerous devices listed on the list.
In his Power On newsletter, Gurman provided all the information, setting the tone for what readers may anticipate in the upcoming year.
According to him, the introduction of these products would occur between the fall of 2022 and the first half of 2023.
iPhone 14
Starting in October of last year, there were numerous iPhone 14 rumors. Like earlier rumors from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Gurman claims that Apple will release four different varieties of the iPhone 14.
The non-Pro iPhone 14 versions will have the codenames D27 and D28 and are anticipated to “create less enthusiasm,” according to Gurman. There will be two Pro models with the codenames D73 and D74.
The rumored features of the iPhone 14 Pro versions include an upgraded front-facing camera, a pill-shaped cutout for Face ID, a new 48-megapixel rear camera system, slimmer bezels, an A16 processor, and a hole punch for the camera.
The A15 chip, which powers the iPhone 13, is reported to be found in non-Pro iPhone 14 versions.
Gurman continues by stating that the Lightning port will still be used by iPhones for battery charging, and that a switch to USB Type-C is anticipated to take place in 2023.
Series 8 Apple Watch
According to Gurman, Apple is getting ready to release three different models of the Apple Watch Series 8. A new low-end SE, a regular Series 8, and an outdoor-focused variant will be available, according to him.
The S8 microprocessor, which might have the same specs as the S7, is rumored to be used in wearable devices. He also claims that a new CPU will be added to the Series 9 Apple Watch models for the following year.
The most affordable SE model will maintain the same screen size as the present model in terms of screen dimensions. Gurman predicts that the SE could replace the Series 3 Apple Watch when it is discontinued in the fall.
Three Apple Watch Series 8 variants may also be under development, according to earlier sources. In the past, Gurman asserted that Apple was developing a number of things, including giving the Apple Watch satellite connectivity.
Apple iPads
According to Gurman, Apple will release new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad tablets using M2 CPUs later this year. The codenames for these iPads are reportedly J617 and J620, respectively.
He claims that within the next year or two, the Cupertino-based corporation would also likely introduce an iPad with a larger display—between 14 and 15 inches.
According to some sources, Apple is planning to release a new entry-level iPad with a Retina display that has the same resolution as the iPad Air’s display.
However, the size of the display may be 10.5 inches or even 10.9 inches. It is anticipated that this particular iPad will feature a USB Type-C port and Apple’s A14 Bionic chipset. A 14.1-inch iPad with an M2 SoC and 16 GB of RAM is rumored to be coming with a conventional LED panel.
Mac PCs and Mac Books
According to Gurman, the M2 processor, which drives the most recent generation of Mac Books, will also power a number of upcoming goods.
According to him, M2 chip- and M2 Pro-powered Mac minis, 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops with M2 Pro and M2 Max processors, and M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme-powered Mac Pro versions will all be available.
He claims that Apple is also already working on the M3, the successor to the M2, which could be used in the 12-inch laptop that is still in the early stages of development, the 13-inch Mac Book Air code named J513, the 15-inch Mac Book Air code named J515, the new iMac code named J433, and the 13-inch Mac Book Air.
Additionally, 15-inch MacBook models with M2 and M2 Pro CPUs are reportedly in the works at Apple. Apple is developing nine PCs using next-generation M2 CPUs, as Gurman had before stated.
Apple mixed-reality headset and AirPods Pro
Gurman claims that the M2 CPU can also power Apple’s mixed-reality headset when discussing the M2 processor. He claims, citing sources, that the headset is anticipated to be powered by a basic M2 CPU and 16 GB of RAM.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, who also asserts that the product will support the “continuing rapid growth” of the headset market, it will be unveiled in January 2023.
Gurman speculates that a new set of AirPods Pro earbuds with an upgraded chip and support for higher-quality music may be released in the future.
Apple TV and HomePod
It’s being said that Apple is also working on a new Apple TV with the codename J255, an A14 processor, and more RAM than the most recent model.
According to Gurman, the HomePod smart speaker, code-named B620, will have a comparable design and performance to the original HomePod and will run on the same S8 processor that will power the watches. On top, it reportedly has an upgraded display and could support multitouch.
