Quite a number of people have had to deal with the common issue of freeing up storage space because if you run out of space, then you won’t be able to install new apps, take photos, sync media files, install operating system updates and some other functions.
If you ever see the message “you’re running out of storage space”, the first area I recommend you take a look at is your Apps directory – do you really need all those apps you have loaded on your phone? You need to realize that certain apps also have their internal data which you have to analyze and decide whether they are important or not. My recommendation would be to delete apps that have a lot of “documents and data” at this point and reinstall them again if necessary.
Another area you would need to look at are your media files. If you have a lot of synced media files and you are running out of storage space then what you should do is to remove some of those files on your device and leave the rest in the cloud – since they are in the cloud, you can always access them.
Finally, I recommend you move some of those old photos to your computer or to the cloud because photos are also one of the biggest users of storage space on devices.
I know if you are using windows or android, then this is not really a big deal because you can easily extend your storage capacity through an external SD card. If, however, you use iOS, then someday you might need these tips to Free Up Space.
