Gozem partners AAIC to launch Health Service in Africa

Gozem, a West African startup involved in transport technology has recently collaborated with Asia Africa Investment & Consulting (AAIC) to launch a new health support service targeting the Francophone region of the Sub-saharan African market.

The partnership happened Gozem secured a pre-series A round funding from AAIC. This will allow Africans in the Francophone region of the continent access to optimal healthcare.

Shigeru Handa, Director of AAIC, in a statement explained that the Gozem app will accelerate the ease of accessing healthcare for Africans in the specified region.

“Gozem is one of the most achieved Super Apps we’ve seen so far in Africa with its strong team.

We have invested in innovative companies that enhance the accessibility of the healthcare ecosystem to more people, including telehealth, online pharma, and insurance.

AAIC is the investment manager for Africa Healthcare Fund, providing all healthcare-related services on the continent with the aim of accelerating early-stage startups for investment.

Gozem’s expansion

Following this new collaboration, the West African startup will expand its operations into new grounds on the African continent.

With its current market in Benin Republic and Togo, Gozem plans expansion into Cameroon and Gabon by 2021.

With the importance of healthcare in every phase of life, the tech startup aims to leverage the knowledge of AAIC together with its portfolio companies to launch the new service.

Commenting on the collaboration, Gregory Costamagna, Co-Founder of Gozem said that it will support the identification and launch of a best-suited health tech-driven service.

“Gozem will benefit from AAIC’s strong experience in the health industry in Africa. We value investors that join us to make a difference with a unique value proposition.”, Gregory added
