GoDo Hub opens call for Mentors

Historically, entrepreneurship communities have been able to consistently reproduce their successes when support and mentorship from experienced predecessors are present.

Similarly, studies have shown that startup communities that incorporate structured mentorship into their programs produce more high-performing founders and highly engaged peer communities than those who do not.

GoDo Hub, a leading tech platform in the innovation ecosystem with a collaborative community of ESOs, innovators and young entrepreneurs, has run several programs that match mentors with innovators. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr., co-founder at GoDo Hub said:

“We have A/B tested and the facts are clear – founders that are mentored have a better level of confidence and faster product deployment than those who are not”.

So, now with the help of the AfriLabs Capacity Building Award funded by AFD through the Digital Africa seed fund, we are formalizing our mentor network to ensure that every startup in Africa can access the much-needed guidance and support required during their entrepreneurship journey”.

As such, GoDo Hub is making a call for experienced corporate, business and technology professionals to support the next generation of African entrepreneurs through their Mentor Network.

These mentors would coach, supervise and support startups across the Pan-African ecosystem, and in turn, would become part of a dynamic and qualitative mentor peer network thereby unlocking other opportunities across the Continent.

The GoDo Hub Mentor Network is already supporting the Mosi Oa Tunya project in partnership with Jacaranda Hub, Zambia.

Through this partnership, GoDo Hub will roll out the framework for mentor engagement and provide additional support to Jacaranda Hub and its 50 participating entrepreneurs in Zambia.

These founders would go through a structured hybrid program with training on business development, investor readiness and digital marketing and a critical part of the whole program including their preparation for the finale – a televised funding pitch to global investors – would be the support and guidance they would receive from mentors in the GoDo Hub Mentor Network.

‘We are grateful to Afrilabs, ADB and Digital Africa for funding this partnership because through such a seamless collaboration; we have the entrepreneurs and the program, GoDo Hub has the mentors, together we can make magic’.

The Mentors Network intends to leverage its reach to provide support to at least 2000 entrepreneurs in various programs across the African continent by 2025.
