Today’s teenagers are among the most technologically advanced generations we have ever witnessed.
Having been born between the middle of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2010s, they are referred to as Generation Z.
The vast majority of this generation has never known a time when there was no internet, no cell phones, or much of the other technology that has become commonplace in modern life.
They’ve learned to use technology in a variety of ways as a result of growing up in this way, and they’re accomplishing things that most of us would have never imagined possible.
For instance, TikTok as a platform allows producers to submit brief films that can be paired with music or other in-app effects, and it has been mostly dominated by Gen Z. Nearly 70% of teenagers currently use the app, according to Influencer Marketing Hub.
According to several analysts, the reason the app has attracted a younger user base is probably because of its innovative design, which enables users to quickly learn a wide variety of information.
To deliver videos that are comparable to other content they’ve recently viewed, it uses an algorithm created by artificial intelligence.
As a result of how far technology has come, the algorithm determines what the system thinks you’ll be interested in seeing next, and it’s typically correct, according to Charles Palmer, Professor of Interactive Media at Harrisburg University.
Due to this algorithm, many teenagers scan through innumerable movies, many of which are wholly unique from one another, and as a result, they are learning more swiftly than ever before.
The app has essentially replaced Google as the newest search engine for Generation Z, who are now turning to TikTok to find the answers to their questions instead.
Google has taken note of this pattern and is attempting to alter how this generation uses its service. There are rumors that the internet giant wants to index videos from TikTok and Instagram, which would enable those films to start appearing in Google search results in many ways YouTube videos do right now.
Given that TikTok and Instagram are the most popular applications for teens, respectively, and that they rank first and third among all apps, there is no doubt that this is an attempt to restore its search engine throne among the younger audience.
The commercialization of TikTok is a significant factor in its rise to popularity. Although Tik Tok’s monetization may not be as good as what a platform like YouTube offers in terms of creator discovery, creators seem to be flocking to the platform as a result.
The software provides a platform for the younger generation to produce content and earn money, which is why YouTube has inspired their generation to be able to accomplish throughout their entire lives.
