Running in its sixth edition, the Financial Times and International Finance Corporation (IFC) have launched the Transformational Business Award 2019. The programme highlights innovative and long-term private-sector solutions to major development challenges.
The awards aim at recognizing, showcasing and rewarding private sector innovation, financial viability and sustainability across key areas identified in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The categories main focus is on transformational impact in developing economies, nevertheless, the awards are also open to projects that address similar market deficiencies in the developed world which could be replicated in relatively under-supplied regions.

The Transformational Business Award 2019 focus on five specific projects for transformational impact, Urban Infrastructure, Innovating for Disability, Health Wellness and Disease prevention food, Water, and LandEducation, Knowledge, and Skills.
