Africa is often referred to as the world’s last frontier, and entrepreneurship will play an important role in changing the fortunes of the continent.
The Founder Institute is positioned to help play an important role in building the next generation of entrepreneurs, and the FI South African accelerator will be graduating 11 founders from the 2021 virtual accelerator program cohort.
The virtual graduation event is scheduled to be held June 29, 2021, at 7:00 pm via zoom—investors, startup ecosystem players, and any aspiring entrepreneurs are hereby invited to attend free by registering here.
There will also be an interactive networking session held via Airmeet immediately after the pitching event.
According to the Co-Director, Founder Institute SA, Jo Eyre,
“It has been a privilege to witness these hard-working entrepreneurs, many of whom came to the program with just an idea, begin to grow incredible businesses that I am sure will create jobs, change lives for the better and support our growing economy in times of uncertainty. I am so excited to continue following their journey.”
The program kicked off with 40 founders, and has now graduated 11 new portfolio companies, who have gone through the rigorous 14-week program and are now launching new technology-based companies.
The graduating companies include: IndyGeneUS, Upartna, Zaniz, Tradata Systems, CiTiFi, Wanderfullyso, SwyftBox, Lanssor, airwaiver, Mmersiv, and TravCar
Lavina Ramkissoon, a Co-Director, Founder Institute, stated that being able to shape a community of founders with a fully supportive ecosystem that include founders, mentors, partners and investors has been a true game-changer for many.
Walking the journey with founders, for the duration of their startup lifecycle and beyond, is a key attribute of the Founder Institute support network.
Founder Institute South Africa is led by Jo Eyre, Yongama Skweyiya, Lavina Ramkissoon & Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, and is dedicated to helping launch new companies that will further add value to the South African economy and the entire African continent.
Intending founders are welcome to apply for the next FI South Africa Summer Virtual 2021 accelerator program cohort here.
