Filecoin, an open-source decentralized storage provider, has commenced its first ever networking conference in Nigeria today, Thursday, March 31, 2022.
The networking program is a three-day event which ends on Saturday, April 2, 2022, and tagged the FileCoin Conference.
The conference is geared at educating Nigerian tech enthusiasts about Web3, the blockchain and the possibilities it presents for Nigeria’s thriving economy.
The 3-day conference comes with a multifaceted experience and would see in attendance top experts in the blockchain field and a workshop for tech enthusiasts to network with startup founders in the field.
Speakers to grace the conference include Juan Benet, CEO Protocol Labs; Akinyemi Akindele, CEO Betdemand; Oluchi Enebeli, Web3Ladies and Chris Quintero, CEO Stackshift.
The event will also include a hackathon where young Nigerians will be able to display their skills and stand the chance to win cash prizes worth $1750 and membership to the Orbit Community Program in Lagos.
Speaking on the initiative, Chukwuemeka Enoch Mbaebie, a Devcon V Scholar Alumni and the Ambassador Orbit Community Program Lagos, said:
“As one of the biggest spaces for tech in Africa right now, it is only right that Nigerians should be at the forefront taking advantage of the possibilities that Web3 and Blockchain technology has to offer.
We believe our aspirations in creating a decentralized tech solution align with the desires of young Nigerians which is why we have designed this conference.”
The FileCoin Conference holds at Zone Tech Park in Gbagada, Lagos and is free and open to all tech enthusiasts and young Nigerians.
