Presently, Messenger Rooms isn’t yet available in the app, however, a recent report obtained from Indian Express indicates the possibility of joining a Messenger Room through the desktop version of WhatsApp.
According to the report, users can get to create a Messenger Room on the desktop version of WhatsApp through:
- Click on the three dots found on the top left corner of the screen, then proceed to select ‘Create a Room’
- An option of “Continue with Messenger”, which you will click
- Messenger Room can also get started from WhatsApp chat, when the user clicks on the attachment option and subsequently selects the ‘Room’ video camera icon.
However, the ability of Messenger Rooms to run a cross-functionality action is part of an early test scenario for the full integration of Facebook’s messaging apps.

This intends to give an easy connection for users on WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook.
With the cross-functionality not optimal yet, Facebook still battles with some technical complications.
However, users can get to connect with many other users through Messenger Rooms to enjoy video chat.
The COVID-19 lockdown is still a battle the world is fighting, so there appears to be no time better than this for Facebook to fast track this connection.
