Elon Musk, Tesla CEO has named Satoshi Nakamoto the unknown founder of bitcoin as Nick Szabo, a global cryptocurrency expert.
The world second richest man made this assertion on Tuesday at a feature on Lex Fridman’s podcast as he discussed about cryptocurrencies and Tesla.
In a statement, Musk commented that “You can look at the evolution of ideas before the launch of bitcoin and see who wrote about those ideas. It seems as though Nick Szabo is probably, more than anyone else, responsible for the evolution of those ideas.
He claims not to be Nakamoto, but I’m not sure that’s neither here nor there. But he seems to be the one more responsible for the ideas behind bitcoin than anyone else.”
The bitcoin was created in 2009 and has gone ahead to become a $2 trillion asset in the last ten years. However, what has been the mystery around this valuable asset is the real identity of the creator.
Various names have been put forward to identify the pseudonym, nevertheless, none has got enough prove.
Is Musk really correct?
Sometime in 2014, a group of linguistics had identified compelling similarities between Szabo’s writing and the Bitcoin white paper.
The lingusitic team claimed that the identified similarities makes Szabo the closest identity to Satoshi.
The identified creator is a computer scientist graduate from the University of Washington and a cryptographer, renowed for his research in digital currency and contracts.
