Glamera an Egyptian health and beauty services startup has recently secured a seed funding of a six-figured amount from Dual Gate Investment Holding based in Saudi Arabia.
The seed funding that remains undisclosed will be utilized by the Cairo-based startup to further expand its reach into Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, resulting in increasing its service offering and customer base.
This undisclosed amount would be the second round of funding secured by the health and beauty services startup.
Established in September 2019, Glamera built an app that enables users to book appointments with makeup artists, salons, dental services, clinics and other similar services.
Due to its perceived transparent pricing, the app has received wide acceptance from the Egyptian population.
According to Glamera, its users base is up to 100,000 coupled with 600 providers in the country plus over 100 in Riyadh.
The app is also available for users in Alexandria, Cairo, Erbil, Jeddah, Riyadh.
Omar Fathy, CTO, Glamera commented that the startup is in a constant innovative activity using technology to offer premium services.
“We have a powerful team of the best technical developers and expert project managers, working continuously to improve the design of the application interface to suit users, in addition to coming up with a recent version of the application within days that will impress users”
The startup has also offered other range of services including free consultations for users who needs to access medical doctors or hair stylists.
Mohamed Hassan, CEO and Co-founder, Glamera, commented that the effect of COVID-19 has taken its toll on the booking system for appointment.
“The changes that Coronavirus have made, became a great advantage for Glamera.
The current circumstances have prompt users to realize the importance of pre-booking for all services including the beauty sector.
It has also raised awareness of the providers for joining the app to schedule their client’s appointments through pre-booking”.
Glamera also plans its expansion to Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and UAE.
