AUC Angels, UI Investment, and a group of angel investors recently invested in Cairo-based food-tech firm 3attar, as a result of the current influx of capital into the tech sector.

3attar is a B2C online platform that offers value to its clients via online healthy food/product purchasing, delivery, diet counseling, and live training courses, as well as extra subscription and e-payment methods.

During the COVID-19 issue, the startup quickly expanded its product assortment from a few hundred to over 3,000, making it Egypt’s largest healthy-shopping destination.

Its one-of-a-kind name/logo combo grew into its own private label, which now accounts for 20% of the company’s total sales.

By delivering a holistic healthy living app, Mohamed Ali, founder, and CEO of 3attar stated that the startup’s goal is to become the leading one-stop shop for the entire health community in Egypt and extend into the Mena region, including chronic ailments and overweight.

The firm’s mission is to help the health community, which consists of at-risk persons who do not have the access, knowledge, and solutions needed to relieve their illnesses and enhance their health particularly users suffering from Obesity, Diabetes, Allergies, Hypertension & more.

Second, healthy individuals, including athletes, dieters, and fitness experts, retain and follow healthy food consumption and are always looking for a platform that completely meets all of their lifestyle needs.

Since the massive growth in the global “health” community is rapidly reaching the Mena region, 3attar made a smart move to be the first and only platform to serve not only the health community in Egypt and Mena but also those who want to join this movement, according to Eng.

Tarek Roushdy, investor and board advisory member of 3attar. He emphasized his delight at being a part of this adventure, assisting them in bringing such value to such a large market.

According to Mariam Kamel of AUC Angels, the specialized e-commerce area has seen a surge in angel and venture capital investments in the past years.

3attar not only meets this need but also aspires to make a difference in the expanding trend for a healthy lifestyle.
