Edtech Startup Womenovate launches to empower Nigerian Women in Tech

UN statistics record economic loss from gender inequality as $12 Trillion of which $42 billion is recorded for the African continent. In Nigeria, female workforce participation in STEAM is 19% equating to a ratio of 4 men to 1 woman for jobs in the STEAM sectors

Womenovate, a female-focused online learning platform offering women in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics) access to resources, training courses, and jobs globally has launched today Friday, April 1, 2022, in Abuja, Nigeria.

The Abuja-based edtech platform is connecting women in STEAM to world-class universities and companies, helping them to close the gender gap/disparity and increase female participation in STEAM fields and sectors.

Speaking on the recent launch, Motunrayo Opayinka, CVO and Founder of Womenovate said, “At Womenovate, we understand that women are the core of the economic engine for any nation and economic loss from gender inequality is fast increasing globally.
